Inner Melbourne Rubbish Removal from Only $75

Frequently Asked Questions

1.What do you do?

We provide a man & van service to remove and responsibly dispose of junk that’s too big for the bin. We’re a bit like a skip but cheaper, more flexible, faster response and less hassle to organise – plus we do all the loading and sweep up for you. Our teams can collect from anywhere on the property (inside or out). On average 92% of materials removed avoids going to landfill.

2.What junk can you remove?

We take any sort of non-hazardous bulky waste provided it can be moved by two people.

Common examples include:

  • Wood – Fencing, firewood, old timber
  • Construction materials – Debris, tiling
  • Garden refuse – Branches, tree and bush clippings
  • Furniture – Couches/sofas, sofa beds, mattresses
  • Appliances – Fridges, freezers, washers & dryers
  • Garage, shed & attic junk – Boxes, books, old tools, tyres
  • Concrete – From broken pathways or flooring
  • Soil & dirt from a new garden
  • Roofing items – Tiles and corrugated iron
  • Renovation refuse – Walls, windows, floorboards, gyprock, plasterboard & frames, etc.

What junk can’t you take:

  • Paint
  • Chemicals, solvents, oils
  • Asbestos
  • Oil drums (unless empty and top & bottom cut out)
  • Oil tanks
  • Hazardous materials

3.I'm unsure what Collection Size to choose - what should I do?

Choosing the appropriate Collection Size can sometimes be tricky. But don’t worry, if you get it wrong – we can easily adjust it on the day.

If you can’t decide between two Collection Sizes at booking, we recommend you choose the larger one. This will ensure the collection team has enough space in their truck to take all your junk first time. If it turns out that you should have ordered the smaller Collection Size, the team will let you know once on site and credit you the difference. Yes, they really do!! If you’d like more comfort before you book – please give us a call on 0207 819 9000 to talk it through. Alternatively, send us some photos of your junk (using the ‘Send us a Photo’ function on the first page of our booking form) and we’ll email you back our recommended Collection Size within 1 hour (typically within 15 mins) in normal trading hours.

4.What if the actual Collection Size is different to the size I booked?

If your Collection Size ends up bigger or smaller than you ordered, the collection crew will let you know before they start and charge or credit your card the difference.

5.Why can't you remove hazardous materials?

We are not licensed or insured to remove hazardous materials like asbestos, oil, weed killer and paint.  We recommend you contact your local council for information on hazardous waste carriers in your area.

6.Are you insured to do this work?

Yes. Our trucks and drivers are fully insured to do this work, including cover against any damage caused to a client’s property when removing junk from the premises.

7.Are you licensed to do this work?

Yes, we are licensed by the Environment Agency.  Our license number is CBDU128459.

8.What happens to the junk after you have collected it?

Junk is passed on for reuse, upcycled via charity donation  or taken to licensed commercial recycling facilities.

9.Can you move my things from one location to another for me?

No. We can only take away items you no longer need. We are not licensed or insured to provide a traditional removal service and also our trucks are not designed to do so. We can however move items from one room to another on the same site for a small additional charge.

10.What communication is there on the day of collection before the team arrives?

The team will call you earlier in the day to introduce themselves, check you are expecting them and that they have the correct address.
When the team is around 30 minutes away, they will send you a text and email to let you know, along with a web link to track the truck live on Google maps as it heads to your address.

As they arrive on site, you will receive a text and email notifying you of their arrival which includes their names and photos along with the truck’s registration number.

11.Do I have to be at the property to have the job done?

No. Provided we can access the junk and it is clear what materials are to be taken and what are to stay – there is absolutely no need for you to be present.   You will be notified by phone and email when the team arrives on site and also when the job has been completed (including before and after photos of where the junk was located).  If any problems arise on site, the team will call you to talk them through.

12.What do you do with the junk that you remove?

We sort the items and determine the best way to dispose of them. Items that can be recycled will be taken to the appropriate, local recycling center. Items which can be used or refurbished by local charities are donated, and the remaining items will be taken to the nearest landfill and disposed of properly.

13.How do I get an estimate to have my junk removed?

Our Junk Calculator will help you visualize the volume of junk that you have and give you a good idea of how much we will charge to remove it. Once our Junk it Removal crew arrives, they will give you an exact, no-obligation price based on your junk to be removed. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

14.What hours are you available to remove my junk?

Our normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm and on Saturdays by appointment. In some cases, our truck may be available for same-day or next-day pickup. Contact us for an appointment.

15.Do I have to wait around all day for your truck to show up?

Absolutely not!  We know that your time is valuable. We will set an appointment time with you and make sure that our Junk it Removal crew shows up when they are expected. If unforeseen circumstances make arriving more than 15 minutes from when your appointment is scheduled, you will be notified as early as possible.
